      Absences/Opt Outs ~  If a student does not attend school during the testing window, the testing booklets will be coded as absent during testing period for the 2025 school year.  
      If you choose to opt your child out of testing due to religious reasons, please contact Mrs. Marushin by April 15 at 570-459-3221 Ext. 23516 to make an appointment to come in and view the test. You will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement, as well as submit a letter to Superintendent Brian Uplinger. A Parent/Guardian may only request a secure assessment review if they believe that they may have an objection to content based upon their religious beliefs. The opt-out request is only in effect for religious reasons and not moral or ethical reasons. If opt-out not for religious reasons, test must be marked as parent refusal.
