Pensylvania Junior Academy of Science is a competition where students follow the scientific method to select a project, research the background, formulate a hypothesis, develop an experiment, collect and analyze data, and form a conclusion.

The students present an oral presentation using power point to a group of judges at a regional meeting in March.  The project is judged against set criteria.  Students receive either a first, second or third place award.  Those that receive a first place then go on to the state competition at Penn State University in May.
