  • What is Speech Class? 

     

     

    Speech class focuses on the following areas of communication:

     

    * Articulation (saying sounds correctly)

    *Receptive Language

    *Expressive Language

    *Pragmatics _ Social Language

    * Fluency (Stuttering)

     *Voice

    * Hearing Impairment

     

      

    Speech activities vary by age. 

    Students in grades (K-1-2) will have activities that are different from students in grades (3-6) or middle school.

     

    During class time, students work directly on areas of need. Students will attend speech class with age and grade-level peers.  Each speech student is unique and goals vary from student to student. 

    Regardless of the goal, speech therapy provides a supportive group environment for all students.
