Formal Assessment Options
Please be aware that no matter what option below you choose, you MUST get a baseline for each student’s IEP goal(s) and continue to progress monitor him/her as per the IEP. To get a current baseline, refer to the last progress monitoring data collected prior to the pandemic.
You will now have two options when completing paperwork.
Option 1: Complete the RR/IEP WITH current academic/functional testing.
- You will complete the document in its entirety utilizing virtual or in person testing. You will not have to revisit these documents when we return to brick and mortar unless you feel something in the IEP needs to be revised to best educate/accommodate the student.

- Virtual https://www.hasdk12.org/Page/34681

Option 2: Complete the RR/IEP WITHOUT current academic/functional testing.
IEP
- You must have a current baseline and progress monitoring data for all of the goals as per the IEP.
- You will complete all sections of the IEP without updated academic/functional testing in the present levels.
- In the present levels of academic performance, you must explain the progress of each student to date based on curriculum-based measures given by the regular education teacher. If you are a teacher of a self-contained special education class or if the student receives his/her grade from a direct instruction period that you are teaching, you will explain that performance as well.
- In the present levels of functional performance, you must report the attendance, participation and behavior of the student during the virtual learning process.
- Enter the wording below into where the academic and or functional assessment(s) would be.
Due to the global Covid-19 pandemic and resulting school closures and virtual instruction, formal assessments were unable to be completed for inclusion in the Individualized Education Program. As a result, the District will assess and revise the IEP within the first 30 days of return to brick and mortar.
- When everyone returns to brick and mortar, you will have to assess the student academically/functionally and revise the IEP to add the data. You will have 30 calendar days to complete these revisions.
Reevaluation
Records Review- Review the previous documents, current curriculum based measures, parent/teacher observations and progress monitoring data to complete the RR.
- In # 4 in the RR, you will be able to add current curriculum based measures and progress monitoring data.
- In # 5 in the RR, you will be able to add parent/teacher observations.
Keep in mind, when you complete an RR, you have to complete an IEP within 30 days of the RR date.
- You will complete the document in its entirety utilizing virtual or in person testing. You will not have to revisit these documents when we return to brick and mortar unless you feel something in the IEP needs to be revised to best educate/accommodate the student.
